島根県の玉造温泉の「保性館」という宿に泊まりました。
上の一枚は、館内にかけられていた一枚です。小泉八雲と妻セツの絵だそうです。
妙に惹きつけられる絵でした。大好きなルチアン・フロイトの絵と同じ感じがします。
なぜだろう？
I was staying at a hotel in Shimane.
I found this painting in the hotel. One western looking gentleman and a Japanese lady was Yakumo Koizumi and his wife, Setsu.
I don't know why, but I was strangely drawn into the painting. I felt something same with my favorite Lucian Freud's painting below.
Why did I felt that way...?
